Echoes of the Jurassic: the significance of dinosaur fossil soft tissue

Livestream video link: Zoom or Facebook Live

About the talk:
The presence of soft tissue and proteins in several dinosaur fossils may be the most significant paleo discovery of the 21st century. The discovery of tissue and proteins still present in dinosaur fossils has significant implications for the entire world of science. If dinosaur fossils have been incorrectly dated, then almost certainly the dating of all fossils is wrong. Dr. Anderson discusses the evidence that shows the tissue is authentic, and examines the arguments that attempt to explain how tissue and proteins could be preserved for millions of years. Contains research from both creationists and evolutionists.

About the speaker:
Kevin Anderson earned his Ph.D. from Kansas State University in microbiology. He then went on the the University of Illinois to start his studies as a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellow, and later he became a professor of microbiology at Mississippi State University. At MSU he taught graduate level molecular genetics courses and also was the major professor for many doctoral and masters students. Since 2003, he has served as the Director of the Van Andel Creation Research Center for the Creation Research Society at the campus of Arizona Christian University. He is also presently the Editor-in-chief of the Creation Research Society Quarterly. One of his main areas of research has been the molecular analysis of bacterial interactions and molecular genetics. More recently, he was the director of laboratory research for a biotech energy company. He has written more than 20 papers in scientific microbiology journals and has given presentations at many nationwide and worldwide scientific meetings. He is a specialist on dinosaur soft tissue and is a molecular biologist, running the iDino Project: an investigation of the preservation of tissue in dinosaur fossils.
